WILTON -- Playing with just 27 players, the Wilton football team persevered behind a staunch defense as the Warriors shut out Fairfield Warde, 14-0, on Friday at Fujitani Field.

Wilton forced four turnovers, and Warriors quarterback Brett Phillips threw a touchdown and ran for one as Wilton improved to 4-5.

Wilton receiver Weston Wilbur made four catches for 40 yards -- including a 21-yard touchdown reception from Phillips on fourth-and-one. Wilbur also intercepted a pass.

Warde subbed out starting quarterback Max Garrett for sophomore Brandon Bisack midway through the third quarter. Bisack finished 7-for-17 for 78 yards.
