Fairfield artists Carol Cole and Diane Pollack will exhibit their work in ArtPlace's holiday show through Dec. 31.

The annual show features the works of all the cooperative gallery's member artists at sale prices as well as its associated artisans who work in jewelry, ceramics, and other craft media.

A gallery reception is planned for Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m.

The following weekend, on Dec. 12 at 4 p.m. Sacred Heart University's Harriet Hiller, an adjunct professor of art history, will present "A Survey: Women Artists Through the Ages -- 40,000 BC to 2010 AD," a slide-illustrated lecture, at the gallery. A few of the artists to be presented include Artemesia Gentileschi, Bethe Morisot, Mary Cassatt, Georgia O'Keeffe and Judy Chicago.

Both events are free, although donations are welcome at the lecture.

Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or by appointment at 11 Unquowa Road in Fairfield.

For more information or to RSVP for the lecture, call (203) 292-8328 or go to artplace.org.
