Did your invitation to the British royal wedding of Prince William of Wales and Catherine Middleton get lost in the mail?

Have no fear, you can still enjoy the festivities -- and toast the couple with a bit of tea -- at a celebration April 29 from noon until 2 p.m. at the Fairfield Public Library, 1080 Old Post Road.

Historian Mona Garcia will give a talk at noon about the royal family, and highlights from the morning wedding ceremonies from London will be rebroadcast on the library's 120-inch, high-definition projection system complete with surround sound.

Tea will be served at 1 p.m. and, in the spirit of the occasion, library officials recommend hats and gloves for attendees. There will be prizes for the best dressed, with special attention for those sporting festive hats.

Garcia taught European history at the college level and is a reference librarian in the Fairfield Public Library system. One of her publications in the field of English history has been included in the Royal Historical Society Bibliography.
