A Fairfield resident was the top fundraiser in the recent Bike MS: bkm/Steelcase Ride at Sherwood State Island Park in Westport to benefit the National MS Society's Connecticut chapter.

Larry Greenhall, who rode in the 30-mile ride, raised more than $22,000 as captain of the Crushers bike team.

Funds raised through events such as Bike MS benefit the chapter and the more than 6,000 Connecticut residents it serves.

The ride, including a second ride in Windsor on June 5, has raised more than $430,000 in pledges toward a $587,000 fundraising goal. Fundraising continues through July 15.
