Fairfield students cited for women's history essays

Eight sixth-grade students from four Fairfield middle schools won U.S. Savings Bonds in a Women's History Month essay contest that concluded with a ceremony at the Pequot Library on April 30.
Winners and runners-up from four schools also were honored with citations from the Connecticut General Assembly.
The essays were about women in history who stood against conventional attitudes and made a difference for the future. Winners received $100 bonds and runners-up $50 bonds.

Roger Ludlowe Middle School
