A broad selection of fiction books will be featured at the Pequot Library's annual Mid-Winter Book Sale, which will take place from Jan. 15 to 18 in the auditorium of the library.

Admission is free and proceeds benefit the library at 720 Pequot Ave. in the Southport section of town.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 15 and 17 and noon to 5 p.m. Jan. 16. On Jan. 18, the sale will take place between 9 a.m. and noon or until all the books are gone. On the final day, books will be $5 per bag.

Hardcover and paperback books will be for sale, as well as a selection of children's books, videos, prints, LP records and comic books.

Additionally, Mark Naftalin and Friends will perform Saturday and Sunday starting at 1 p.m. Naftalin is a blues piano player who performed with the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. Accompanying him are Chance Brown on vocals, guitar and harmonica, Paul Gabriel on vocals and guitar, Daniel J on vocals, guitar and harmonica, Arno Hecht on saxophone, Bill Bileca on upright bass and Barry Urich on drums. Their performance will be broadcast live on WPKN radio.
