With the publication of Mark Twain's autobiography, the Pequot Library in the Southport section of Fairfield is offering a theatrical introduction to the life and work of the legendary Connecticut writer at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Actor/teacher Ashton Crosby and two associates will perform the funny hour-long show. They will take on the roles of many of Twain's best-loved characters. Crosby has played Twain widely, including performances at the Morgan Library in New York. During the performance, he will look for young volunteers from the audience to come up on stage and help him whitewash Aunt Polly's fence.

Several rare and illustrated editions of Twain's work from the Pequot Library's Special Collection also will be on display during the program.

The event is $5 for adult members of the Pequot Library Association and $10 for nonmembers. Admission is free for those under the age of 18. To register, visit www.pequotlibrary.org.
