United Way fund

The United Way of Western Connecticut, in partnership with Newtown Savings Bank, has created the Sandy Hook School Support Fund to provide support services to the families and community members.

Donations may be mailed to: Sandy Hook School Support Fund, c/o Newtown Savings Bank, 39 Main St., Newtown, CT 06470.

Or they may be dropped off at any Newtown Savings Bank branch.

Newtown Alumni

Relief Fund

Residents and former residents have formed the Newtown Alumni Fund to provide relief for the families affected by the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy. Donations will be administered and distributed through the Newtown Rotary Club, with no administrative costs or fees.

All contributions will go directly to the community affected by this incident. A donor has offered to match the first $2,000 in donations.

Checks should be made payable to Newtown Rotary Club, Sandy Hook School Fund, with "Newtown Alumni Fund" in the memo section, and mailed to Newtown Alumni Fund, P.O. Box 3217, Newtown, CT 06470.

Healing Project

The Grassroots Fitness Project of New York City and The Gym from Southbury have created The Sandy Hook Healing Project, a nonprofit effort to bring healing of all kinds to the community.

Massage therapists, reiki practitioners, acupuncturists and counselors will all be available free of charge to anyone who needs some healing. Adults and children are all welcome.

Those who can offer a meditation or movement class, such as yoga, pilates or intensati can email Ann Glaser at aglaser@thegym.com.

Supplies needed include blankets, sheets, towels, lamps.

The Sandy Hook Healing Project Hours of Operation are: Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Monday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Tuesday, from noon to 4 p.m.; Wednesday through to Dec. 28, from 1 to 8 p.m.; and Dec. 29, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Healing Center is located at 3 Simm Lane, Newtown (off of Route 25).Appointments are not necessary.

Sandy Hook Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Newtown Scholarship Association has established the Sandy Hook Elementary School Memorial Scholarship Fund.

These scholarships will provide need-based financial assistance to college-bound high school graduates from Newtown who attended Sandy Hook Elementary School.

The New Baroque Soloists, with special guest artist Christine Buras, will be featured in a benefit concert to support the Sandy Hook Elementary School Scholarship Fund Dec. 28 at 8 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 36 Main St. in Newtown.

The program includes modern-day world premieres and new arrangements of baroque classics, as well as works by Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Telemann and others.

Concert tickets are $35 each and can be purchased at the following Newtown locations: Everything Newtown, 61 Church Hill Road, 203-270-7130; the C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main St.; and The Newtown Bee, 5 Church Hill Road. To reserve tickets, call Leslie Trudell at 203-426-0054.

Healing concert

A concert for Remembrance and Healing in support of the people of Newtown is set for Saturday at 7 p.m. at Congregation Adath Israel, 115 Huntingtown Road.

The event is free and open to the whole community.

Donations will be accepted for the Noah Pozner Memorial Fund at Congregation Adath Israel, the Noah's Ark of Hope Fund through eventbrite.com, the Sandy Hook School Support Fund, through United Way of Western Connecticut, or the Newtown Memorial Fund through everribbon.com.

The performers will be Rabbi Ken Chasen of Leo Baeck Temple in Los Angeles, Ellen Allard, a recording artist and early childhood music educator, and Noah Aronson, Rabbi intern and Chazzan Sheni at Temple Beth Elohim in Wellesley, Mass.

Lauren Rousseau Memorial Scholarship

The Lauren Rousseau Memorial Scholarship has been established. Mail your donation to: Danbury High School, 43 Clapboard Road, Danbury, CT 06811.

UC Memorial Scholarship Fund

The University of Connecticut has created a memorial scholarship fund to honor those who died.

The Sandy Hook School Memorial Scholarship Fund at the University of Connecticut will help support the college costs for any siblings of those killed in the assault, the dependents of adults who also lost their lives, as well as students currently enrolled at the elementary school, who are accepted to attend the university.

Ways to Donate to the Sandy Hook School Memorial Scholarship Fund:

Via text: Donors may contribute to the fund by texting 50555 with "uconn newtown." University alumni should also add their name and graduation year.

For example: "uconn newtown John Smith 88" will generate a $10 donation to support the University of Connecticut Foundation through the Give Foundation.

Western Connecticut State University has created a music scholarship to honor the memory of 6-year-old Ana Grace Márquez-Greene.
