The North Star and Northern Lights Singers will stage their 46th annual Twenty Days After Christmas Fest today (Saturday, Jan. 14) at the Scandinavian Club, 1351 South Pine Creek Road.

The traditional Swedish celebration is planned at 5 p.m. marks the end of the Christmas season. The singers will be joined by the Apollo Singing Society of Hamden, fiddlers and an accordionist.

In keeping with Swedish tradition, a Christmas tree will be plundered, then thrown out, the group said in a news release.

The group first observed the fest in 1966 at Bridgeport Machines. It moved to a church for several years before moving to the Scandinavian Club in 1985.

Donations are $7 at the door, the group said, and children under 12 will be admitted free.
