Anna Godrie, 88, of Fairfield, died July 11, 2010.

Born and raised in Bridgeport, she was a Fairfield resident for most of her life. She worked for the McKesson Co. for more than 35 years and, for five years, at the Fairfield Hills hospital.

Godrie was a long-time member of the United Church of Christ and was a tenor in the church choir for more than 40 years. She also belonged to the Fairfield Elderberries and was a HAM radio operator and member of the American Radio Relay League call lettters, KA-1 GWE. She enjoyed knitting and was an avid New York Yankees fan.

She is survived by her cousins, Carl and Lillian Horvath and Lydia Horvath.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, July 15, at 11:30 a.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield, and at noon in the United Church of Christ, located at the corner of North and Laurel avenues, Bridgeport; burial will follow in Mt. Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday for one hour prior to services.
