Fairfield University will host a discussion Monday for inventors and entrepreneurs to help them determine the potential of their products, inventions, and technology.

The free program will start at 7 p.m. in the dining room of the university's Dolan School of Business. It is open tot the public, and sponsored in collaboration by the school and the Inventors Association of Connecticut.

Manny Ratafia, an entrepreneur, management consultant and angel investor, will be the speaker.

The planning to attend are encouraged to bring their own invention, product or venture to present for discussion at the event.

Ratafia, who has founded and run ventures in a variety of technology areas, will discuss how to assess the market potential of an invention, new product or new technology, according to a news release from organizers of the program. He will also present alternate approaches to the commercial process for new products or technologies, from licensing to building a company.

Ratafia will review commercial projects he has been involved with, drawing from his experience as a consultant to companies that make medical devices, medical imaging machines, consumer products, plastics processing, high-tech materials, among many other industries, according to the release.
