An assistant animal control officer is facing a disorderly conduct charge after what police said was a dispute with his wife.

Vincent Pennatto, 41, of Park Avenue, was charged Saturday evening after a verbal argument with his wife, according to the report.

Pennatto slammed a door on his wife, causing it to hit her on her arm, police said. He was released on a promise to have appeared Monday in Bridgeport Superior Court.

Police Chief Gary MacNamara said officials of the Police Department, which oversees the animal control staff, are looking into the report from a personnel standpoint.
