Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man they said stole several hundred dollars worth of condoms from Walgreen’s late Wednesday night.

It was the second time in less than a week that a man was accused of shoplifting a large number of condoms, worth several hundred dollars, from a local pharmacy. That incident took place the previous Friday, and a Bridgeport man was charged with stealing more than $250 worth of condoms from the CVS on Grasmere Avenue.

According to the report on the latest incident, the man walked into the Kings Highway store around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday and was seen on security video putting boxes of condoms and possibly other items into a hand basket. He then ran from the store, past the cashier without paying and got into a waiting Ford Escape that was parked in an handicapped spot near the entrance.

The SUV was driven by a woman, who waited in the vehicle during the incident, police said. The value of the stolen condoms was put at $361.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 203-254-4840.
