The Fairfield Public Library will host a free two-part workshop on creating a writer's platform 7 p.m. Thursdays, Nov. 1 and 8, in the library's Memorial Room, 1080 Old Post Road.
Writer Adair Heitmann will discuss what a platform is, why it's important to have and how to put one together during the workshop. The first part will cover the basics -- a writer's bio, business card and email signature -- while the second part will address social media.
Heitmann, a published writer, artist and consultant, is a contributing author to "Voices: A Journal of Women's Wisdom," according to the library. She blogs and tweets about creativity and wellness and often leads writing workshops at the library.
