Autism program March 26 at FTC

An official of a national autism-advocacy group will speak on topics affecting people with the disorder and their parents on Tuesday evening, March 26, at the Fairfield Theatre Co.

Peter Bell's talk, "Autism 2013" is planned from 7 to 9 p.m. at the 70 Sanford St. theater and is sponsored by the Giant Steps School in Southport.

Bell is executive vice president of programs for the advocacy group Autism Speaks and a member of the Federal Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities, which advises the president and Department of Health and Human Services on issues that impact people with intellectual disabilities, Giant Steps said.

Admission is free, but reservations are required.
