Bake shop opens in Greenfield Hill

A bake shop recently opened in the Greenfield Hill Shopping Center, 75 Hillside Road.

Michelle Jaffee, of Fairfield, launched the 770-square-foot store after selling baked goods at farmers markets and online since 2009, according to a news release. The shop, called Sweet & Simple Bake Shop, with four employees will allow her to test more recipes with customers as part of her effort to expand her online product line.

Its products include layer cakes, cupcakes, signature cookies, specialty cookies, muffins, cinnamon buns, coffee cakes and a variety of breads and rolls.

The shop, where baking takes place daily, also offers a rotating menu, seasonal specials and coffee. It also fulfills requests for special orders and catering.

Hours are 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
