The Bank of Fairfield has extended its collection of new and gently worn winter coats because of high demand for outerwear at the Bridgeport Rescue Mission.
The bank will continue to collect coats through the end of February at its two branches -- 2150 Post Road and 2248 Black Rock Turnpike, next to Trader Joe's during regular hours.
Both branches are open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Black Rock branch is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
In two months, the bank said, it has collected more than 75 coats for the mission, which provides 24-hour support to the needy 365 days a year.
