Police are investigating an incident Tuesday at Fairfield County Bank, 255 Tunxis Hill Road, where a man came to the bank apparently intending to take money from the coin-counting machine.

The man -- described as black, between the ages of 35 and 40, and about 6 feet tall-- entered the office about 12:30 p.m., with a hand truck and two black plastic boxes. He approached the coin machine and, when asked by a bank employee what he was doing, responded that he worked for Brinks and was there to empty the coin machine.

The employee tried to continue to engage the man in conversation but he ignored her and pretended to write on a clipboard before leaving the bank without any of the coins. He was driving a Penske rental truck, according to the report.
