Beam me up to the bookstore, Scotty

Trekkies will want to be beamed up to the Fairfield University Bookstore on Sunday, Nov. 4.

The author of a new history of the "Star Trek" television and feature-film franchise will be at the downtown shop to promote his book.

Robert Greenberger will be at the 1499 Post Road store from 1 to 4 p.m. to talk about "Star Trek: The Complete Unauthorized History" and sign copies of the book.

Greenberger's publicist said the book is the first to combine the franchise's history -- including six TV series and 11 films -- with anecdotes about the show from fans.
