Bicycles continue to be stolen in town at a steady pace.

Latest instances include:

Two bikes were reported stolen last Thursday from the Fairfield Metro train station.

In both cases the bikes were locked. In the first case, the $400 Trek was taken sometime between 6 a.m. and 7:15 p.m. The second bike, a $300 Trayl Dispatch hybrid, was taken between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

One of the bikes was located directly in front of new security cameras at the train depot. Police will review the video as part of the investigation.

A $50 bike, along with a lock and helmet, were reported stolen Sunday night from a Katona Drive home. The owner said he last saw the bike around 6:40 p.m. in front of the house. When he went outside at 9 p.m. to put the bike in the garage, it was gone.

Another resident reported his bike was stolen Saturday night after he left it behind the trash bins at the Colony Grill, 1520 Post Road. He said he did not lock the bike and had left it behind because he got a ride home from the restaurant. When the owner returned the next day, it was gone. The bike is worth $750, according to the report.
