The fun run will start at 9 a.m., followed by the fitness walk at 9:30 and the 5K road race at 10:10. An awards ceremony will follow at approximately 10:30. Prizes will be raffled shortly thereafter.

Participants can also help support the local food bank by bringing a nonperishable item on race day.
Last year, the event last year raised more than $100,000; it has raised more than $800,000 to date, the release states. The money raised will be awarded to local agencies, among them Fairfield YMCA, Grasmere by the Sea Eldercare Center, Fairfield Senior Center, Operation Hope, Bridgeport Rescue Mission and Burroughs Community Center.
Registration fees will include a free commemorative race T-shirt to the first 1,000 registrants, a race gift bag, after-race refreshments and a chance to win one of several raffle prizes, including two round-trip airline tickets to anywhere in the continental United States.
Participants may register online at www.bigelowtea.com; at the Fairfield YMCA, 841 Old Post Road, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29; or on the day of the race at Wakeman. The registration table will open at 8 a.m.
