Book talk on astronauts' wives planned in Fairfield

Author Lily Koppel will discuss her book, "The Astronaut Wives Club," at the downtown Fairfield University bookstore on June 5. The book tells the story of the women who stood beside their astronaut husbands during the height of the space race.

The book features Annie Glenn, Rene Carpenter and Trudy Cooper, who formed the Astronaut Wives Club with other wives, meeting regularly to provide support and friendship."The Astronaut Wives Club" is slated to be a television miniseries in fall 2014.

Koppel is also the author of "The Red Leather Diary," and has written for the New York Times, the Daily Beast, the Huffington Post and Glamour magazine.
