FAIRFIELD — A performance by the Borromeo String Quartet will be featured in the final Music for Youth concert of the season April 9 at the Pequot Library.

The concert will take place 2 p.m. in the library, 720 Pequot Ave. in the Southport section of town.

The Borromeo String Quartet, in its 25th year, has performed at venues around the world, collaborating well-known composers and performers. The musicians have been the faculty ensemble-in-residence at the New England Conservatory of Music for 22 years and also work with the Library of Congress, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.

A master class will be held for two student string quartets after the concert; students will audition to participate in the master class program. Tickets are not required to attend the concert; admission is free for adults attending with children. Adults attending without children are asked to make a good-will donation.
