FAIRFIELD — Police arrested a Bridgeport man for allegedly breaking into a Fairfield home and stealing electronics, jewelry, a purse and a backpack earlier this year.

Detectives matched a fingerprint left in the Rhode Island Avenue home to Meleek Gorham, connecting him to the Feb. 3 break-in, ransacking and theft.

The 42-year-old resident of Arctic Street in Bridgeport was arrested off a warrant on Dec. 9 while detained for second-degree burglary charges from Stratford. Bond was set at $5,000 for the Fairfield third-degree burglary and larceny charges for Gorham, who police said has an extensive criminal history.
