Burglary suspect skips court, is arrested again

A Bridgeport man, arrested in July after he broke into a Fairfield office building and then led police on a car chase, was arrested again on a warrant Tuesday for failing to show up in court.
Christopher Bond, 51, of Chamberlain Place, was charged with first-degree failure to appear and held on a $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Oct. 16.
On July 9, Bond was spotted inside an office building on Black Rock Turnpike around 5 p.m., with electronics and computer equipment piled in the hallway. When he was spotted by a tenant, he fled the scene.
Police pursued him into Bridgeport, where Bond collided with a car driven by a pregnant woman. At the time, he was charged with third-degree burglary. sixth-degree larceny, criminal attempt at fourth-degree larceny, assault on a pregnant woman, interfering with an officer, first-degree reckless endangerment and engaging in pursuit.
He had been released on a $50,000 bond and was supposed to appear in court on July 18 but didn't show up.
