FAIRFIELD — Patrons of The Edge gym at 500 Kings Highway Cutoff continue to be targeted for thefts, according to police reports.
The latest incidents, reported last Thursday, include the theft of a car.
The first report around 7 p.m. Thursday when a patron said her locked car was entered and a purse, containing credit cards, was stolen. The door handle was broken "almost completely off" the vehicle, police said.
About 45 minutes after that incident, a second patron reported that a wallet -- hidden under the driver's seat -- was taken from their unlocked car. A credit card from that wallet had already been used at Best Buy and an Exxon station in Milford and a McDonald's in New Haven, police said.
About 8 p.m., a third patron reported their 1996 Honda was stolen from the parking lot. The car was later located in New Haven, where police found it had been jacked up and all four wheels had been stolen.
