Police are searching for a 1995 tan Honda Accord stolen from Citizen's Auto Body on Kings Highway East on Monday night. The car may have been taken by its owner, according to police.
The car had been towed there Nov. 20 after being stopped by police for misuse of license plates. The car had been blocked in by other cars, but was inadvertently moved by an employee. Forty-five minutes later, a man got in the car and drove off, with no license plate on the car, while $663 in towing and storage fees was still owed.
A man had been seen walking around the area several hours prior to the theft, according to the report. He is described as black, about 6 feet, 5 inches tall, 180 pounds and wearing a black leather jacket.
Police went to several addresses associated with the car's owner, but were unable to locate the owner or the car.
