Charges filed in car break-in

Ortiz was charged with third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, fourth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny, illegal use of a credit card, third-degree identity theft and criminal impersonation.
According to police, they used latent fingerprints and DNA found on an unlocked Subaru parked in a driveway on Melville Avenue. A wallet containing credit cards was taken from the car, and used at a gas station and McDonald’s in Bridgeport. An attempt to use one of the credit cards at the Stop & Shop on Fairfield Avenue was unsuccessful.
Ortiz was held on $5,000 bond and arraigned that day.
