FAIRFIELD — A four-year-old girl was hospitalized after she was struck by a car in the Tomlinson Middle School parking lot Saturday afternoon.
Police said she did not suffer any broken bones, or head or internal injuries, and was kept overnight at Bridgeport Hospital for observation.
According to reports, she ran out from her car into the parking lot’s driveway, and hit the front driver’s side of the car driven by a 76-year-old Norwalk man. He was coming from Mosswood Condominiums and cutting through the school to Round Hill Road.
The toddler was with her mother and older sister, who came to the school for a basketball game. The older sister, who was late for the game, ran from the car to the school. As her mother was walking around to the other side of the car to get the younger sister, she had already gotten out of her safety seat and the car and started to run across the driveway.
No charges have been filed in the accident, which happened around 4:20 p.m., and remains under investigation.
