Police said a 37-year-old man chased a 17-year-old through the traffic on Black Rock Turnpike last Thursday afternoon, after the teen threw a squeegee at him.

The incident unfolded around 1:45 p.m. at the Mobil gas station on Black Rock Turnpike. The teen, a Fairfield resident, was a passenger in a car that was being fueled at the pumps when he saw the older man. According to police, the adult had previously reported the teenager for trespassing.

The teen first began to yell at the man, police said, and then threw the squeegee. A customer in the lot alerted the manager to the altercation, who called police.

When officers arrived, they said the adult was chasing the teen on foot through traffic on the busy road.

The teenager, who was not identified because of his age, was issued a summons for creating a public disturbance.
