Garrett Denniston, 35, was arrested Tuesday after police said he climbed a ladder and broke a window at his estranged wife's Jackman Avenue home.

Denniston was charged with breach of peace.

According to the report, Denniston, who has not lived at the home since mid-February, tried to get into the house both via the front and back doors around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday. He then took a ladder and climbed to a second-floor window, which he said he accidentally fell through and broke, police said.

Denniston took some keys before leaving, according to the report.

The wife told police she "was in fear" of Denniston and there was a civil agreement that she has sole possession of the home.

He was released on a $1,000 bond, with the condition that he have no contact with his estranged wife, and was scheduled to have appeared Wednesday in Bridgeport Superior Court.
