A man toppled out of his wheelchair and a woman's toe was bitten during a dispute that turned physical between a couple with disabilities Saturday night in a Trefoil Court apartment, police said.

Lisa Kopchayk, 52, told police the dispute arose when her boyfriend, Charles Grimes, 45, wouldn't leave the apartment. When officers arrived, they said they found Grimes on the floor, yelling.

Both were charged with disorderly conduct.

Grimes told police that Kopchayk kicked him, knocking him out of his wheelchair. Kopchayk claimed Grimes then grabbed her foot and bit her toe, prompting Kopchayk to kick him again.

When officers arrived at the apartment, they found Kopchayk talking on the phone, apparently intoxicated, according to the report.

Grimes left the apartment to stay at a relative's home, police said.

Both were released on a promise to have appeared Monday in Bridgeport Superior Court.
