A Bridgeport man with a history of larceny arrests was charged on a warrant Tuesday with another larceny offense after an investigation linked him to thefts last year at Super Stop & Shop and Home Depot.
Heribeto Coriano, 42, of Cedar Street, Bridgeport, was charged with criminal attempt to commit sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny when he and another man loaded a grocery cart with $216 worth of Tide detergent and energy drinks last Oct. 11 at Super Stop & Shop, 1160 Kings Highway Cutoff.
The pair of suspects left in a green Pontiac Grand Prix, registered to an address in Bridgeport.
Police were able to trace the car to a number of thefts from Home Depot, where Coriano allegedly stole a $299 chain saw on Oct. 8. Coriano was charged with fourth-degree larceny in connection with that incident after police found five transactions between Coriano and East Coast Pawn Shop in Bridgeport for new power tools in unopened boxes.
Coriano has served time in jail for earlier larceny arrests in Westport, Strtford and Darien.
He was held on bonds totaling $35,000 in connection with the latest incidents, and is scheduled to appear Jan. 16 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
