A Beverly Lane resident called police Friday morning to report that her Rubbermaid storage shed was missing from her property and a broken safe had been thrown into her yard.
The shed was found in the possession of Robert Luise, police said. Luise is the complainant's former son-in-law, according to police, and the broken safe belonged to him.
Luise, 41, of Halley Avenue, maintained the shed is his. He was charged with sixth-degree larceny and released on a promise to appear march 15 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
He was also warned against dumping items onto other people's property.
