A 19-year-old who stepped out from behind a parked car and onto the Post Road Tuesday night was struck by a car making a U-turn.

The pedestrian, Julio Galindo of Fairfield, was given a verbal warning for "hazardous entry into the roadway."

Police said there was a pedestrian crosswalk about 150 feet away that he failed to use.

Galindo was sitting on a bench when officers arrived. He had a lump on the back of his head from the collision and was taken to an area hospital for treatment, according to the report.
