Christopher Webster, 32, of Pulaski Street, Norwalk, was charged with driving under the influence and reckless driving Sunday afternoon.

According to police, Webster was seen passing another car on Grasmere Avenue and driving over the double-yellow traffic lines. When police tried to pull him over, he sped off, according to the report. He was located in the parking lot of Whole Foods on Grasmere Avenue. He failed field sobriety tests, police said, and released on a promise to appear April 15 in Bridgeport Superior Court.

Because of what police said was Webster's "extreme intoxication," he was taken to St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport. Several empty vodka bottles were found in his car, police said.
