A Bridgeport man told police he stole $59 worth of Red Bull from Super Stop & Shop on Kings Highway Cutoff Wednesday in order to sell them for $1 each to convenience stores in Bridgeport.

Michael T. Dvornek, 23, of State Street in Bridgeport, was charged with sixth-degree larceny and held on a $500 bond. He is scheduled to appear Feb. 18 in Bridgeport Superior Court.

Dvornek also was sought on three active warrants by police in Danbury and Bethel for second-degree failure to appear.

Store employees spotted Dvornek putting cans of the energy drink into a plastic bag, and followed him as he left the store without paying, police said. They were able to point him out to police, according to the report.
