Cops: School bus employee's protective order violated by man

Nigel Cunningham, 28, of McGrath Court, Stratford, was charged Wednesday morning with violating a protective order.

The bus coordinator at the First Student school bus office on One Rod Highway spotted Cunningham's BMW in the parking lot and knew that one of its employees had a protective order barring Cunningham from contacting her.

Officers stopped Cunningham as he was driving down One Rod Highway and when asked what he was doing there, he said he was there to meet someone named "Junior." Cunningham said he never went to First Student.

When they checked his cell phone, police found he made eight calls to the victim since she started her bus route that morning.

Cunningham was held on a $5,000 cash bond and was scheduled to appear later Wednesday in Bridgeport Superior Court.
