Police said Souza was seen putting $117 worth of chewing gum and Neosporin into her purse. She and Basujevic were stopped at the front door as they attempted to leave without paying.

Basujevic was charged with conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny and released on a promise to appear May 14 in Bridgeport Superior Court.

According to court records, the other warrants for Souza's arrest stem from numerous shoplifting arrests in Fairfield, Bridgeport, Stratford and Trumbull.
