Mauro Fennelli, 25, of Paisley Lane, was charged Tuesday with reckless driving and two counts of evading responsibility after he struck two cars on Kings Highway and left the scene, police said.

Fennelli was driving east on Kings Highway "at a high rate of speed" when he struck the rear of a car stopped in the left lane. In fleeing the scene, Fenelli hit a second car that was also eastbound, but in the right lane. A witness followed him to the Woodfield Village condominiums, where they lost sight of him.

Police later located Fennelli coming out of a garage at the condos. He initially denied being involved in the accident, but later allegedly admitted to hitting two cars.

A passenger in the second car hit by Fennelli was taken to St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport for non-life threatening injuries. Fennelli was released on a $1,500 bond.
