Cops: Teens argue; one injured by dumbbell

Patricia Reyes, 19, of Carthage Street, struck a 15-year-old teen in the head with a dumbbell during an argument at the Carthage Street residence Monday afternoon, police said.
Police were alerted by staff at the emergency room at Bridgeport Hospital around 4 p.m., where the 15-year-old boy had top have stitches to treat a one-inch cut on his forehead.
Reyes told police said she and the teen were arguing and claimed he shoved her in the face, while he said she hit him in the head with a dumbbell.
She was charged with second-degree assault, risk of injury to a minor and disorderly conduct, while the 15-year-old was issued a juvenile summons for disorderly conduct.
Reyes was released on a $5,000 and was scheduled to have appeared Tuesday in Bridgeport Superior Court. The juvenile was released to his mother's custody and was scheduled to appear Tuesday in juvenile court.
