FAIRFIELD — A 25-year-old woman attacked another woman in the parking lot of Toscano’s Pizzeria, 3383 Post Road, just before noon last Friday, police said.

Maria Perez, of Congress Street in Stamford, was charged with third-degree assault and breach of peace following the incident.

According to police, Perez’s former girlfriend went to the restaurant, where Perez works, to get her house keys and cell phone from Perez. The victim was still in the car when Perez emerged from the restaurant. When Perez found out that the woman had not brought Perez’s belongings from the apartment they had shared, she allegedly began kicking the car door and yelling. Perez then threw the house keys and cell phone about 20 feet from the car and left.

The victim got out of the car to retrieve the keys and cell phone when Perez came back, the two male witnesses said, and began punching and kicking the victim. Perez left before police arrived, but was located on the platform at the Southport Railroad Station.

According to the report, the victim was hit in the head six or seven times.

Perez was scheduled to have appeared Monday at state Superior Court in Bridgeport.
