A Bridgeport woman who police said was high on PCP was arrested Thursday afternoon after witnesses called to report a reckless driver.
Officers arrived at Edgewood Road around 3:50 p.m. and found Naima West, 32, sitting in her car, which had stopped in the middle of the road. According to the report, she had a blank look on her face, but her emotions ranged from a blank stare to laughing. West allegedly admitted to police that she had smoked "dust" before driving. A partially smoked, hand-rolled cigar containing PCP was found in the car, police said.
West was unable to perform field sobriety tests and was charged with possession of a hallucinogenic, driving under the influence, failure to drive right and operating without a license.
The resident of Central Avenue in Bridgeport was released on a $1,100 bond and is scheduled to appear Nov. 20 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
