A Bridgeport woman paid a visit to her grandmother in a Fairfield nursing home Saturday, and according to police, stole the elderly woman's $900 gold bracelet, which she later pawned.

Annie E. Turoczi, 22, of Montgomery Street in Bridgeport, was charged with fifth-degree larceny and released on a promise to appear Jan. 22 in Bridgeport Superior Court.

During the visit with her grandmother at Ludlowe Health Care, 118 Jefferson St., Turoczi asked to look at the elderly woman's watch, police said. She then allegedly unhooked a gold bracelet from her grandmother's wrist and told the woman that she needed to leave the room. But Turoczi did not return, and officers located her at her Montgomery Street home, where police said she admitted stealing and pawning the bracelet.

The bracelet was recovered at a pawn shop and seized as evidence.
