Yvette Bezahler, 77, of Winopoge Drive, was issued an infraction for failing to stop for a bicyclist in a crosswalk after she struck a 12-year-old with her car Tuesday afternoon.

According to the report, Bezahler stopped at Mill Plain Road's intersection with the driveway for Fairfield Ludlowe High School. She then started to drive through the intersection and hit the cyclist, who was crossing the street, police said.

The impact tossed the cyclist onto the roof of the car, and then onto the ground, according to the report.

Bezahler asked the boy if he was OK, and when he said he was, she drove away, police said. However, she returned while police were still on the scene.

The cyclist had cuts on his leg but refused medical attention at the scene. Bezahler told police that she did not see the cyclist.
