A wrestling match gone awry led to charges against Daniel Albro, 20, who police said stabbed a friend in the leg with a pocketknife early Monday.

Albro and the victim were wrestling in Albro's Godfrey Road home when Albro put the victim in a headlock and then stabbed him in the leg just above the knee with the pocketknife, police said. The victim was treated for a half-inch puncture wound to his leg and Albro was charged with third-degree assault.

Albro was released on a promise to appear Sept. 10 in Briodgeport Superior Court.
