Fairfield police and California authorities on Wednesday both investigated a 2009 Fairfield Ludlowe High School graduate who they said posted "intimidating and violent" comments on his Facebook page.

Police Sgt. Suzanne Lussier said Ludlowe's school resource officer learned about the comments around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

On his Facebook page, the former Fairfield student, who now lives in Palo Alto, Calif., apparently posted that he could envision himself as a mass murderer and that he was going to be the "next shooter."

Fairfield police contacted authorities in California, Lussier said, who determined that the 22-year-old is a danger to himself and others. He was committed to a hospital for an emergency evaluation, police said.

Lussier said police both here and in California have had contact with the young man previously. In Fairfield, she said, the calls involved instances of breach of peace, an investigation and suspicious activity. He now lives with a parent in California, police said.
