Police from Bridgeport and Fairfield received reports of shots fired early Monday near the border of the two communities, DoingItLocal.com reported.

Bridgeport police were on scene shortly after midnight gathering evidence after receiving reports of shots fired near the intersection of Brooklawn and Capitol avenues.

Fairfield police also received reports of shots fired on nearby Collingwood Avenue, possibly near Moodys Mill Pond, DoingitLocal reported.

Bridgeport police were told a report that a suspect fled on foot down Cleveland Avenue, but a suspect had not been caught early Monday morning.
