Police seized handguns and shotguns from a Bronson Road man for safekeeping after he was charged Wednesday in connection with a domestic violence incident at his home the day prior.
Daniel Schine, 58, was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct, and released on a $25,000 bond. He was scheduled to have appeared Thursday in Bridgeport Superior Court.
According to police, Schine got into a physical altercation with a member of his family, pushing the person to the ground. He also threw a phone on the ground, breaking it before leaving the house in his pickup truck, according to the report.
When officers arrived at the house Tuesday evening, they said they found Schine had a total of nine guns and shotguns secured in a gun safe. All the guns are legally owned, according to report. At that time, police also seized an assortment of ammunition near the safe, according to the report.
A warrant was issued for Schine's arrest and he turned himself in at police headquarters Wednesday evening.
