A man and woman both were charged Sunday night with disorderly conduct after getting into an altercation over personal property in an Overlook Avenue apartment.
Kelly McCormack, 27, told police at about 9 p.m. that her boyfriend, William Lee, 40, of Monroe, was in her apartment trying to remove items that belonged to her, and that he had a knife in his possession and a gun in his vehicle. Officers arriving at the scene found Lee standing with his son outside the apartment, but found no weapons in Lee's possession or in his car.
According to the report, McCormack was tugging at the items as he held them and told her they belonged to him. McCormack reportedly punched Lee in the face, which he said left his face red and swollen, but the officers did not see any visible injury.
McCormack said she called police because he had assaulted her in the past and she was afraid he would assault her again, police said.
Both were released on promises to appear Tuesday in Bridgeport Superior Court.
